About Me

About Kelly Jo Augir Eveleth, KJ, Jo Augir, Kelly J Eveleth

Why all the names?

I was born as Kelly Jo Augir. However, people in my distant past may know me as Kelly Jo Hill (my late step-father's name). Then in high school I claimed my birth name as Kelly Jo Augir. But of course, I am a woman in the American culture and became Kelly Eveleth in 1989 when I married James Eveleth. However, my brother-in-law also married a Kelly so then there became two Kelly Eveleths (creating a bit of the family confusion sometimes!). To add to the confusion, we have the same middle initial 'J'. Adding to that confusion, we were both public educators of the elementary grade level when the internet and social media phenomenon began. (Sorry, sister-in-law Kelly Eveleth, and all the other Kelly Eveleths I've found on the Internet) So, I love technology and as I began creating web pages, social media accounts, you can see that I have been kind of moody as to what I wanted for my identity, or handle, to be. Sometimes I like to use KJ as that is a nickname some of my family and favorite people use and then at times I simply like the sound of it or am too lazy to write out my whole name. So, on this page you will find all my links with all the variations of my name. Call this my HUB Link page for now. Oh by the way, did I mention I've created a few different website pages? And at the writing of this 'About Me' page (I finally decided to create in January 2019) I've managed to lock myself out of my website with my name, so until then, this is my primary go to website.

What I Do and Have Done in the Past

  • Write...Read...Write...Read
    • Do I need to write anything else here?
    • Only a small fraction of my writing will you find on the mighty web
    • And yes, you can google my name and find me on other sites for my writing
    • If you want to scroll to the end, you can even read a poem about me
  • Current Professional Title: Branch Library Assistant for the West Wendover Branch Library of the Elko-Lander-Eureka County Library System in Elko County Nevada. In simpler terms, I'm a librarian doing a little bit of everything as I am the only staff in the building (with the exception of my subs) so I'm a 'jack of all trades' so to speak but without the Master's in Library and Informational Science. Some of my tasks include:
    • Manage books and media/Circulation related tasks
    • Assist in finding titles, making recommendations
    • Create & Facilitate a Family Literacy with STEAM program (by the way, the trendy acronym STEAM means: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics, but educators have always been doing these things, just a tweak in the branding of the product)
    • Assist individuals with various computer tasks (sometimes I become an 'expert' on finding & then assist in completing documents from government entities)
    • Share my knowledge and expertise on technology (OK, I have my limits but compared to many in my community I know a lot, like how to scan a document and get it to someone's email so they can forward that document to someone else)
    • Manage a public meeting space (the only real free public meeting space in town for more than a handful of people)
    • Custodial tasks (though I do get help with that thanks to an agreement with the City Public Works)
    • Numerous other things (i.e. Problem Solve whatever situation comes in the front door, and it helps I've lived in the community for 25 years)
  • Other Hats I Wear
    • Wife for 30 years to James (Jim) Eveleth who I met my first year in college and is from the beautiful San Diego area
    • Mother of three children, a young adult son who selected a career as a Public Accountant, a young adult daughter engaging in higher education (career still to be decided but she is a better writer and researcher than I am), and a teenage son exploring the many facets of the creative arts
    • Daughter, being fortunate to have her parents and their spouses (with the exception of one step-parent), and her in-laws still relatively healthy
    • Crafter, one who dabbles in a little bit of this and a little bit of that
    • Friend, one who will stand by your side and respect your beliefs

Former Job Titles Held (if you are at all curious)

  • Owner of KJ's Cottage --- I created KJ's Cottage, a virtual place, to provide services through a proper business model. While I still assist others in various ways using my talents, skills, and knowledge, these activities currently are not done through financial transactions. So, I don't advertise or market myself in a way that requires a business license. The purpose of KJ's Cottage was to "Provide Resources to Strengthen the Spirit," That is still my intention as I interact with others either through my writing or helping someone in the community with my "Librarian Hat" on.
  • Life Coach, trained by Professional Christian Coaching and Counseling Academy (PCCCA), holding the title of Master Life Coach when I provided life coach training to others in the PCCCA program. I've also received training as a Grief Life Coach provided by H. Norman Wright and Kimberly Kirchmer.
  • Tutor for elementary age children with the role of coaching the parents concerning their children's learning process.
  • Virtual Assistant for a handful of wonderful people, and I learned the most about working with others from Meggin McIntosh, a master teacher of teachers.
  • Public Education Classroom Teacher, grades K-6 for all subjects at some point in the multiple years of teaching. The longest position held was at the West Wendover Elementary for Elko County, but also worked for a short period of time for the Utah side of our unique community (I live on the border of NV & UT so there is a Wendover, UT also). My foundational training for a career in education came from Lewis Clark State College in Lewiston, ID which included multiple teaching experiences in the LC Valley at several schools.
  • Skating Rink DJ, Skate Guard, Cashier, Concession Manager during high school and college.
  • Grocery Stocker, Cashier, Produce Assistant for a wonderful summer with my cousin and my loving aunt and uncle.
  • Hostess, Waitress, Dishwasher, Busser, Buffet Prep, Line Cook, Office Assistant...all of this before I turned 16 in my step-father's restaurants, a time when I learned what it meant to do my best to provide customer service and treat others with respect regardless of station.

What I Believe ... the Power of Words & our Spirit

I believe that every human has a designated purpose but we are given free will as to how we travel the journey to fulfill that purpose. We have discovered how to identify some of that  information through our Astrological birth map as well as other spiritual practices. We are given guidance and assistance through the angels assigned to us and those we call upon. These angels may share their message with us in a variety of ways, including through the energy of people we are strongly connected to. We have people placed in our lives to be an active participant with us along that journey and/or teach us something we need to know and  understand for us to fulfill our purpose. The more we are in alignment with that designated purpose the more fulfilled we are. The more tuned in to the vibrational energy of the Spiritual realm, including the Chakra energy pathways, the greater awareness and potential for success we have of living authentically. Spending time in quiet, reflection, creative process, and meditation is essential to engage in the Spiritual realm.

The words written above reflect where I am now. Some who have known me in the earlier years of my development as a woman may be surprised about how I express my spiritual beliefs. And, some people won't be surprised at all. If you have actually read or scrolled through this very long 'About Me' page, you finally arrived to the words that share a bit of the mystery of who I am through my poem and belief statement. And, if you are curious to know more about the mystery, read the other words I put on the page for the Universe. Some day you may even find a fully published book with my name, or possibly a pseudonym, on the cover.
